Ongoing training for teachers with study immersions for YA500-hour upgrade
The Yoga Academy offers ongoing training for teachers in the form of residential study immersions of varying length that are designed to support yoga teachers' continuing professional development. Taught by The Yoga Academy faculty under the leadership of its Principal Simon Low as well as invited guest teachers, each study immersion is built around a specific subject matter and can be taken independently by all teachers as a focused study immersion into the subject.
Teachers with an existing Yoga Alliance 200-hour certificate can collect hours from each study immersion towards formal certification, via The Yoga Academy, at the 500-hour level with Yoga Alliance US. Hours can also be collected towards maintaining a current BWY accreditation or a current 200-hour or 500-hour registration with Yoga Alliance US. Additionally, at The Yoga Academy’s discretion, each study immersion is also open to non-teachers, who are interested in a deeper personal exploration and enquiry into their study and practice of yoga.
Please note that currently The Yoga Academy’s teacher trainings are accredited with the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) and Yoga Alliance US (200-hour and 500-hour level). Accreditation with Yoga Alliance UK at the 500-hour level will be available shortly.
Teachers taking the study immersions as professional development will receive, upon request, a certificate of completion from The Yoga Academy indicating the number of hours studied during each study immersion they have completed.
It is The Yoga Academy’s established policy to keep class sizes to a level that promotes optimal practical experience, ensures personal attention and guidance and helps to maintain an intimate and effective community.
