Our dedicated residential teacher-training venue in the UK is Bore Place near Sevenoaks and Oxted in Kent. This very comfortable residential conference and study centre and an organic dairy farm, pottery, green woodworking workshop and an educational centre is set amidst the rolling fields of Kentish countryside, yet within easy reach from London. Bore Place is an ideal, peaceful environment for a focused and enhanced learning experience. The site is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is one of England’s most celebrated, environmentally friendly conference and study centres. Having taught residential yoga weekends at the farm for over 20 years and teacher trainings for over 10 years, Simon is extremely well acquainted with the venue.
Bore Place and the facilities on site are run by an educational trust. Bore Place House is an old Tudor manor house, with Jacobean and Victorian extensions, surrounded by an ancient walled garden and a lily pond. There is a group of historic barns and buildings around a courtyard, which have all been renovated and converted to provide a comfortable and peaceful environment. There are also plenty of good walks in the surrounding area of Bore Place.
Our yoga room is a large 16th century barn that was fully renovated in the 1980s. It has a wooden floor, high-rise ceiling and beautiful old beams that bring atmosphere and character. The barn is warm in winter, well lit and has ample windows for light and fresh air. While we have a supply of yoga props that are used at Simon Low’s residential weekends at the Farm, teacher trainees are required to purchase and bring their own unless travelling into the UK from aborad.
Our students are accommodated in the characteristic old manor house of the estate, Bore Place House, and in the converted Old Stables. Accommodation is in twin-bedded rooms under single occupancy with shared bathroom facilities.

Catering at Bore Place
We have our brunch, tea and dinner in the big homely kitchen of Bore Place House. All meals are served buffet style.
At each intensive, we will have one of our familiar chefs preparing us healthy, nutritious meals and snacks to keep our energy to the required balance and level during the intensive days of study. Food is primarily vegetarian with some fish, but vegetarian options will be prepared and genuine food allergies catered for, with advance notice. A selection of herbal teas, black and green tea, coffee, juices, toast and fruit are freely available throughout the day apart from coffee, which is not available before the morning led class.
A joint venture between Santillán, Simon Low and The Yoga Academy, Santillán is a former family-run rural boutique hotel located in the Andalucian hills approximately 30 minutes east of Malaga. It has recently been turned into a yoga retreat and training centre under consultation and guidance by Simon Low and Eija Tervonen. Simon and Eija held the inaugural retreat there in July 2015.
Santillán comprises a 190 m2 yoga studio at featuring 24 stations on the Great Yoga Wall. The studio has been designed and propped by Simon Low and Eija Tervonen.
Accommodation at Santillán is in comfortable en-suite single rooms.
Catering at Santillán follows the same philosophy as catering at Bore Place, with focus on primarily vegetarian meals, with some fish prepared in Mediterranean style. Nutritious meals and snacks are served to keep everyone's energy to the required balance and level during the intensive days of study and teaching. Vegan options will be prepared and genuine food allergies catered for, both with advance notice.
As at Bore Place, a selection of herbal teas, black and green tea, coffee, juices, toast and fruit are freely available throughout the day apart from coffee, which is not available before the morning led class.
